A Weekend in Kansas City

Kansas City!

Kansas City! Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant

To celebrate our 11th anniversary, we took the family to Kansas City! We started our weekend adventure at Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant. What a fun place! We loved watching the trains come and go and waiting for our food to be delivered by a train! Everyone was entertained, even little Wauryn!

After having such a great time at Fritz’s we wondered around the Crown Center and found Chip’s Chocolate Factory, where we were able to watch Kansas City Fudge being made. It was so fun watching him throw the fudge in order to cool it down. And of course tasting it was lots of fun too!

And of course, we couldn’t be across the street from the Lego Discovery Center without at least stopping in to see if they had any fun lego sets for sale at the gift store (no we didn’t do the actual discovery center this time). But the kids did enjoy creating their own lego person.

Since we couldn’t go to our final destination for a few more hours we headed over to Union Station to see the historic building and see what we could discover. We found that the building is celebrating it’s one hundredth year and we had a great time watching model trains.

We had a wonderful weekend! We enjoyed the water park and playing MagiQuest. The Dragon Riders made a great team and were one of the top scorers for the week! During our time in Kansas City we even took a little drive over to Lawrence and showed the kids Mom and Dad’s first apartment. Since Berlynn’s birthday is only a few days away we also celebrated her 4th birthday. And we ended the weekend watching a firework show that the kids thought Dad had done special for our anniversary. Thanks Kansas City for a great anniversary weekend! It was a great time and a nice time away as a family!DSCN2633DSCN2636
