Great Britain Trip: English Channel

For our anniversary we decided to head to England and Scotland. Of course we couldn’t leave the children for two weeks, so we all headed out bright and early. Our first adventure was taking a ferry across the English Channel. Payton was so excited to see the boat we would be traveling on.

The ferry was much bigger than we had imagined. It held lots of cars, trucks, vans, and semi-trucks (or lorries as they call them in England). On board there were play rooms, much like a  McDonald’s play place, movie watching areas, eating places, and outdoor decks.

We came into England at the ports of Dover. Where we were able to see the beautiful sites of the White Cliffs of Dover. It truely was amazing. The white cliffs contrasting against the dark water and sky.

We ended the day with driving through the English countryside. Craig getting accustomed to driving on the left side of the road, Nikki trying to not panic when there were cars coming at her on the right and the children resting in the van until we arrived at our campsite which was along the Thames River not to far from Windsor Castle.
