Great Britain: Loch Ness & the Highlands

Waterfall

We spent today walking and driving through Inverness-shire. The Schottish Highlands truly are beautiful. This is a waterfall not to far from Loch Ness. The pond at the bottom was very dark, we all wondered how deep it was.

As we were driving we came across very beautiful places. Payton loved this little loch. Where he could walk out on the rocks and get even closer to the water. Addyline loved walking in the grass and seeing these big mushrooms.

Our next stop of the day was at a rare breeds park. Here we were able to see all sorts of sheep, goats, and cattle. We also saw donkeys and shetland ponies. Landyn loved being able to feed the animals grass. He would grab a few blades and hand it too them, as soon as their mouths touched his hands he would drop everything and laugh.

On our way back to the car we went to the lock at Fort Augustus. Everyone, especially Dad, liked watching the lock fill with water and the boats rise to move on to the next lock. The only problem was Landyn wanted down very, very badly and as you can see why from the picture that was not about to happen.
