Birthday Boy

Payton's 9th BirthdayCalling all Wild Kratts! It’s my birthday! We had a great time playing with friends (Matthew Trickey [& sisters], Jack Sticht, Radley Masters, and my family). We had creature adventures, enjoyed pizza, little smokies, fruit and cupcakes! It was a great day and I had a great time with my friends. Oh and did I mention that the school decided to celebrate my birthday with me and had no school the day after my birthday (which was on Sunday) so that I could have a party today!

Wolf Badge

Over the summer I completed all of my wolf requirements for Cub Scouts!  I have been waiting for the first pack meeting of the school year so I could finally get my wolf badge. Dad was on alert, so he didn’t get to come but Mom and the rest of the family was there to see my first milestone in Cub Scouts! Now it is time to see how many arrow points I can earn over the next few months before I turn 9.

PostHeaderIcon First Pinewood Derby

After lots and lots of sanding Payton finally had his pinewood derby car ready for the races. He love picking out the colors and designing his car with Dad. It was a beautiful car and the only test left was to take it to the pinewood derby to race it. After getting Addyline to the zoo poster award ceremony (click to see her post) that is just what he did and all his work paid off! 1st prize!

For my birthday party I celebrated with Mom and the other kids (Dad was on alert). We had fun decorating a snowman cake. Here’s a picture of the “before”.

It was a lovely cake and looked just like a wonderful snowman. THEN, it happened. It started to move, to slide and then…..

But it is okay, we still love the snowman, even if he did melt.

PostHeaderIcon Last Day of 1st Grade

For Payton’s last day of school his class put on a little talent show. Payton and his friends did a puppet show. They had a great time, though we couldn’t hear much. After school Payton was able to pose for a picture with his best friend from school, Radley, and his teacher Miss Olson.

I decided that a sea birthday party would be great. Luckily Grandma and Daddy were here to help to help since Mom just had kidney surgery on two days ago. They made the day great! They surprised me with an awesome cake that was full of sea creatures.

All my friends came home with me from school and we had a fun party together. What a great ocean party!!

Payton had a wonderful year in school. He loved his teacher Mrs. Oswald and his teacher’s aide Mrs. Ward. We are so glad that he was able to have such a wonderful first year of school experience. We look forward to all the wonderful years of learning ahead!

PostHeaderIcon My MRI

Payton has been having lots of headaches, and because of the family history, the doctors decided it would be best to rule out a chiari malformation. So early in the morning we headed to Landstuhl and Payton was sedated. Here is a short video of him before he headed down to the MRI.

They said he did great and luckily he does not have a chiari. We still don’t know exactlly what is causing his headaches, but his brain not malformed in any way. Here is a short video of him as he started waking up.

Look who’s turned 6! Payton loves star wars and requested star wars themed cupcakes and cake. Luckily, Grandma H. had an R2D2 cake pan (and the mail wasn’t slow) so it made it easy to make him the cake he wanted.

Because he was turning an even number we had our fun family birthday party. He enjoyed his favorite meal, chicken cordon blu, followed by his yummy cake. We played together and had a great family birthday party.

Early in the day we went to Payton’s class to serve Payton’s light saber cupcakes. What a great time we had. We had fun participating in storytime and being there for Payton’s class’s birthday celebration. What a great class he has.
